My Thoughts:
So this was a different kind of book, a set of stories based on a land which author Stephen Zimmer has created in his other book series Crown of Vengeance. I was very excited about this fact actually, I have wanted to read Crown of Vengeance and it's page size has deterred me, but now I'm dying to read it.
I must say right away I loved how different each and everyone of these stories are in this collection and it is a collection, this is only the first volume of stories for this one and I can't wait to read more. I also will say that Lion Heart has to be my favorite story in this one. Magic and a monk testing his faith what more could you want for in a story? But anyway, I don't want to give to much away about the stories themselves but I really want to talk more about the writing in this book.
Author Stephen Zimmer is a Shooting star over at Seventh Star Press and he is one that is taking off like crazy with this one. I need more of this world he created and characters, also I need more of the way he writes. This book is full of amazing descriptions and characters that will grab you in a choke hold and hold you there till you read every last word. If you haven't read a book by this fantastic author it's a must, go get this book right now! But I will worn you he will leave you wanting more and you will end up getting Crown of Vengeance as well. I know I already have my copy and I'm starting it before I head to bed tonight.
So if you like words that flow off the page, characters that will surprise you and stories that are filled with fantasy and creatures then this set of stories is for you. I highly recommend it!
